REACH in your company
Determining your obligations as a stakeholder
The REACH regulation applies to manufacturers, importers and users of chemicals.
Any manufacturer / importer who markets more than one metric ton of chemical substances per year must pre-register them between June 1 and December 1, 2008 if it wishes to benefit from the transitional period for registration. If it misses this deadline, it will fall under the stricter regulations for non-phase-in substances and must immediately file all the necessary paperwork. Otherwise, the substances cannot be produced or imported.
Users of chemicals must ensure that their suppliers pre-register the substances and register their use so they can continue using the substances. "Use" means any processing, formulation, storage, keeping, treatment, transfer from one container to another, production of an article, or any other use.
