More complexity management for Ticona

• Kelsterbach plant area: 44 ha
• Approx. 1,000 employees
• Approx. 1,000 telephony ports
• 2,000 data network ports

Industry: Chemicals, Ticona GmbH in Kelsterbach, Germany

Safety first! To free up internal resources, Ticona decided to outsource major technical and infrastructural functions in the operation of its Kelsterbach plant. In the end, it farmed out site security (plant security and fire department), occupational medical care for employees, IT operations, PBX management (conventional and VOIP/internet telephony), and sewage-sludge disposal.

Making the project especially sensitive were its strict security requirements - the site was extremely close to Frankfurt Airport. The customer also wanted its data network and server nodes to respond and recover quickly.

The bottom line

Double-digit cost savings were achieved, due in no small part to the shared use of the command center, control center, and resource planning tools. Ticona no longer needs to maintain or train as much personnel for security, health, waste disposal or IT responsibilities. This benefits its core business, and has created practical, more cost-effective synergies.

In a word: The more complex the job, the more Infraserv Höchst!
