Physical therapy services
Physical therapy covers all treatments that use physical methods. It can involve passive manipulation of the patient's body or active exercises performed under guidance. Its purpose is to prevent or treat diseases, injuries or deformities and promote healing.
Physical therapy can be used to treat illnesses (rehabilitation) or stop them from occurring (prevention).
Manual therapy
Manual therapy diagnoses and treats malfunctions occurring in parts of the musculoskeletal system such as joints, muscles, ligaments or the spine.
It aims to preserve or restore the normal functionality of these parts. Manual therapy is an excellent choice for treating acute pain or addressing chronic mobility problems.
It also includes special techniques to stabilize hypermobile joints.
Massage
We offer all standard forms of massage as well as special applications:
- Friction massage
- Functional massage
- Sports massage
- Connective tissue massage
- Chopstick massage
Massage relaxes muscles, relieves pain and improves circulation.
Manual lymphatic drainage and complete decongestive therapy
Manual lymphatic drainage and complete decongestive therapy are excellent ways to treat various dysfunctions of the lymphatic system:
- Lymphedema (fluid retention) due to venous insufficiency or other causes
- Swelling in the lymphatic system due to injury, surgery or removal of lymph vessels
Manual lymphatic drainage can be used on minor, moderate or serious cases and followed by compressive bandaging.
Heat applications (hot air, fango, hot roll)
Heat applications such as hot air, fango or hot rolls are often used to supplement and prepare for other forms of physical therapy.
They:
- Improve circulation
- Relieve pain
- Boost metabolism
- Relax tense muscles
Cold/ice therapy
Ice therapy is used to support and supplement other forms of treatment. It alleviates pain, relaxes muscles and reduces inflammation.
K-Taping
K-Taping refers to the process of applying special flexible tape onto the skin. The K-Tape helps to loosen tense muscles (in the shoulder/neck region, etc.) or soothe irritated areas (as in tennis elbow).
K-Taping helps athletes who are injured or recovering from injuries, and can be used to prevent future injuries. It can also be applied to "trigger points".
There are many methods of applying K-Tape. Each method focuses on a different aspect of tape therapy. To ensure the right method is used, patients must undergo a thorough examination by the K-Taping physical therapist. K-Tapes can be worn for up to 2 weeks.
Sling traction bed therapy
Sling traction beds are primarily used to elevate joints which are painful or have limited mobility. The sling traction bed partially or completely offsets the natural pull of gravity on individual body parts. This allows patients to move their joints without pain, even in early stages of rehabilitation.
Electrotherapy
Depending on the electricity used, electrotherapy can:
- Alleviate pain
- Improve circulation
- Stimulate metabolism
Different voltages, currents and frequencies may be applied to one or more body parts depending on the disease.
Prevention
We can also provide preventive care such as massage, physical therapy and training plans to self-pay patients.
