The future needs space! In a public-private partnership, the State of Hesse, the City of Frankfurt and CIC Hesse issued a request for proposals (RfP) for an innovation center with laboratories, pilot plants and communications rooms. The RfP was for planning and constructing an automated building that offered maximum flexibility to individualize the working environment. One challenge was particularly exciting: The tenants and their requirements were still not known during planning and construction, so the solutions had to be creative and versatile from the start.

The bottom line

Rooms with a future and flexibility: We successfully completed a fully functional and marketable property on schedule. And, since we factored in facility-management requirements during the design phase, the building can be run cost-effectively over the long term. The tenants say they are thrilled by the quality of the architecture and its technical capabilities.

Biotechnology that builds on competence!
