Infraserv Höchst, the operator of the 460-hectare Industriepark Höchst , issues an average of 12,000 safe work permits each year. Work permits are complex, time-consuming and labor-intensive – and yet absolutely essential – and used to be entirely paper-based. Countless forms had to be manually completed, managed and archived.

Now, this laborious process has been transferred to a new, modern platform – the “electronic safe work permit” (also known by its German acronym, “eAF”). And you can enjoy all the benefits of this modern, convenient version of the work permit issuance process!

Safe work permits are processed from start to finish on the SAP-based platform using mobile devices and a standardized procedure. Not only does this eliminate reams of paper documents, it also efficiently combines numerous steps, including signing and issuance.

The digital workflow significantly accelerates processes and improves safety by providing constant transparency into the status of all safe work permits. An automatic collision check warns of conflicts when working together in facilities. The system also supports the LOTO process that prevents machines and equipment from being switched back on during servicing. All work steps can be reviewed in the system since all the steps are documented seamlessly to maximize safety and efficiency.
